  • A large system in Nebraska/Iowa are looking for Night PCU RN's.
  • 12 hour shifts, 36 hours guaranteed.

    • Job Requirements
    • 2 years of unit experience.
    • Nurses are required to titrate drips.
    • Common titratable &/or set rate drips include Heparin, Nitro, Dopamine, Cardizem, Amiodarone, insulin.
      • Schedule Information
      • Shifts are 0630-1830, 1830-0630.
      • Smart Square online scheduling is used.
      • Every third weekend required.
      • Rotating with perm staff during holidays.
      • If working in the ICU to take PCU acuity patients, nurses may be required to float to MedSurg.
      • There is a radius rule of 50 miles.
      • RTO needed upfront (7 or less days per 13 week contract). Additional RTO will not be approved, including after submissions.
        • Unit Specific Information
        • Nurses are required to read and interpret telemetry/monitor strips.
        • There is a charge nurse on each shift who may take an assignment.
        • Nurse aids/patient care techs on this unit have a ratio of 1:12.
        • Respiratory equipment includes high flow, and nurses are required to trouble shoot.
        • The scrub color/dress code is Navy Blue.
        • There are a specified number of shifts for unit/department specific orientation.

          • Overhead lifts in half the rooms, portable lifts, vein finders, bladder scanner.
          • The unit focuses on patient experience scores, responsiveness, hospital environment, and communication about medications.
          • Looking for someone who is flexible, willing to learn, and open to feedback along the way.
          • The cultural populations served on this unit are primarily Hispanic and Somalian.
