Must receive a 90% to pass or they will be terminated * *Department: Med Surg / OrthoCertifications Required: BLS***WILL NOT APPROVE BLOCKED SCHEDULING OR SAME SCHEDULE/SHIFTS, MUST BE FLEXIBLE AND WILLING TO FLOAT AND WORK WHEN NEEDED***- # of Beds: 22- average daily census of 6- Nurse:Patient Ratios: 1:5-6- Common diagnoses/Types of patients: Total knee replacements, total hip replacements, ankle replacements, total shoulders, spines- back and neck- Are RNs required to titrate drips?: No- Common titratable &/or set rate drips: Pain medications, antibiotics, blood- Is there a Charge Nurse on each shift? Does the charge nurse take an assignment?: Yes- Are there nurse aids/patient care techs on this unit? Ratios? Duties?: Yes, 1:13- Are there tele/monitor techs on this unit? Are RNs required to read their own strips? What brand are the tele monitors?: Tele boxes. Tele techs will read and interpret.- Shifts & Scheduling (Do you allow self-scheduling? Block scheduling?): 0, 1 // self scheduling with cyclic rotation- Weekend Requirement: Every third- Holiday Requirement: Rotate in with perm staff- Floating Requirements: MedSurg, rehab, or PCU taking MedSurg acuity- How many shifts of unit/department specific orientation?: 1 week- Additional Notes: Attributes that help a nurse be successful on this unit are being team oriented, helping teammates, being flexible, taking ownership within the department, and have a willingness to learnUnited Staffing Solutions Job ID #744385.
