TravelNurseSource is working with Cynet Health to find a qualified ICU/Critical Care RN in Omaha, Nebraska, 68122 About The Position Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) Job Specialty: Intensive Care Unit (ICU) Job Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12-Hour Days Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week Experience: Minimum 2 years License: Required Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS Must-Have: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred Job Description: - Managing nurse-to-patient ratios typically 1:2; for downgraded medical patients 1:5, and PCU 1:4. - Treat common diagnoses including COPD, pneumonia, CVA, TIA, DKA, sepsis, CHF, STEMI, neuro. - Required to titrate drips such as Vasopressors, Insulin, TNK, Heparin, IV Antibiotics, Sedatives. - Charge Nurse available each shift, who also takes assignments. - Nurse Aids/Patient Care Techs are available with ratios of 1 tech until reaching 20 patients, then 2 techs up to 24 patients. - 24/7 critical care coverage with an E-ICU staffed by a nurse and APRN. - Familiarity with vent and BiPAP equipment; responsible for troubleshooting. - Read and interpret telemetry/monitor strips; experience with EPIC charting system. - Work schedule from 0630-1900 or 1830-0700 set by unit scheduler, with weekend shifts every other weekend. - Holiday shifts based on unit needs; required to float to PCU and Medical floors. - Dress code is navy blue scrubs. - First week includes system orientation and onboarding, with 1-2 12-hour shifts of unit orientation required. - Flexibility regarding work location required due to 50-mile radius rule and specific time-off policy.
