  • A large system in Nebraska/Iowa is looking for Night PCU RNs.
  • 12 hour shifts, 36 hours guaranteed.
  • 2 years of unit experience.
    • Job Requirements
    • BLS, ACLS, NIHSS certifications required.
    • Must have the ability to be flexible and willing to float and work when needed.
    • Experience with common titratable &/or set rate drips like Heparin, Nitro, Dopamine, Cardizem, Amiodarone, insulin required.
    • RNs must read and interpret tele monitors.
    • Must be a team player, flexible, adaptable, and have good communication skills.
    • Willing to work with different cultural populations, primarily Hispanic and Somalian.
      • Schedule Information
      • Shifts & Scheduling: 0630-1830, 1830-0630.
      • Smart Square online scheduling system.
      • Weekend Requirements: Every third.
      • Holiday Requirements: Rotating with perm staff.
      • Floating Requirements: Yes to MedSurg or to ICU to take PCU acuity patients.
        • Unit Specific Information
        • Department: PCU
        • Beds: 40 beds with average daily census of 24.
        • Ratios: 1:4-5 both days and nights.
        • Common diagnoses/Types of patients: Adults, Cardiac med/surg, dialysis, cancer diagnosis, vascular, sepsis, adult respiratory, stroke, post stent, post pacer placement, renal failure.
        • Are RNs required to titrate drips?: Yes.
        • Charge Nurse on each shift takes an assignment.
        • Nurse aids/patient care techs on unit: Yes, ratio 1:12.
        • RT Equipment (Vents, Cpap, BiPap, High Flow, etc.)
        • Scrub Color/Dress code: Navy Blue.
        • Number of shifts of unit/department-specific orientation: 1 week.
          • Additional Details
          • Overhead lifts in half the rooms, portable lifts, vein finders, bladder scanner.
          • Focus on patient experience scores, responsiveness, hospital environment, and communication about medications.
          • Looking for someone who is flexible and willing to learn as well as take feedback along the way.
          • Radius Rule: 50 miles AND candidates may not be full time, part time, or PRN with any facility associated with CommonSpirit, including CHI and/or Dignity.
          • RTO needed upfront (7 or less days per 13-week contract). Additional RTO will not be approved, including after submissions.
